How long is LEFT ON PEARL?
LEFT ON PEARL is 55 minutes.
How can I see LEFT ON PEARL?
LEFT ON PEARL is screening at film festivals and community screenings around the world. Please see our Upcoming Screenings to find a location where the film is screening or Host a Screening to host your own!
How much does it cost to host a community screening of LEFT ON PEARL?
Screening fees depend on the type of event you are hosting. Please sign up to Host a Screening, and we will get back to you right away with more information.
Why do we charge screening fees?
The LEFT ON PEARL community screenings campaign allows hosts to enjoy the film and use its supporting materials, while helping to cover a fraction of the cost of the labor to make and distribute the film. Films are highly technical team efforts that often take years and are therefore very expensive. As independent filmmakers, our goal is to generate enough revenue to make the film accessible to all types of organizations and to keep our distribution efforts going so we can reach even more audiences around the world.
What do I get when I sign up to host a LEFT ON PEARL community screening?
The LEFT ON PEARL Screening Kit contains a DVD of the film, viewer discussion guide, customizable postcards, detailed hosting instructions, a link to additional publicity materials so you can publicize your screening event, and public performance rights.
Why does hosting a community screening cost more than renting a film online?
Films on digital platforms and home-use DVDs are licensed by law for in-home use only and are priced accordingly. To show the film to a group requires the purchase of public performance rights. According to the U.S. copyright law (Title 17, United States Code, Section 110), a public performance is any screening of a videocassette, DVD, videodisc or film which occurs outside of the home, or at any place where people are gathered who are not family members, such as in a school, library, auditorium, classroom or meeting room.
Can I just buy the DVD for my personal use?
Home-use DVDs are not yet available for sale. If you would like to show the film to a group, please fill out our Host a Screening form. If you would like to be put on the waitlist to be notified when home-use DVDs are available, please contact us at leftonpearl@gmail.com.
Can I buy a DVD to use in my classroom?
